Using creativity to empower women
Next thursday 25 March, I´ll be at Dialogue Café to moderate a nice session on women´s empowerment through creative industries.
In line with some ideas and projects I´m currently developing, I hope this debate will allow us to identify future initiatives aimed at promoting women´s leadership in creative sectors. Creative sectors as crafts, design, arts, fashion design.
Of interest?
You can join us in Évora, Lisbon, Novi Pazar and Rio de Janeiro (from 15h to 16h30 London time)
Welcome!
Embroidering Women Stories
My passion for embroidery has no limits, this is why I´m not taking this art in my hands, because of the respect I have for this needlework.
Nevertheless, I collect in a virtual, and preliminary, gallery, the work of some wonderful artists I admire. These women use the needle to express feelings, perceptions and visions. From the oldest tradition to the most innovative design, stitching is used as language to speak out.
Women´s Heritage
Powerful image from other times showing us how strong and empowering is the fact of using our hands to create with love, hope and mindfulness.
Women don´t miss this amazing heritage we have in our hands.
Thread and Thrift: A new book
Thread and Thrift: A new book is an amazing textile project made by Mandy Pattullo.
She is a wonderful textile artist I really admire because her work is unique and means beauty. Her choice of coulours, textures and materials is just impressive and communicates intuition and professionalism.
